Pop’s Magic
The Magic of Bogus
I was the chief magic consultant for Bogus by Norman Jewison, 1996. It is a movie with a lot of magic and several different magicians.
It stars Whoopie Goldberg, Gerard Depardieu, and Haley Joel Osment.
Johnathan Pendragon, Johnny Thompson, and Tony Clark all worked on various magic effects throughout the show.

Diana the Enchantress
Wonderful overview of the career of an incredible person, my dear friend Diana Zimmerman. I have known her since I first arrived at the Magic Castle. We worked in the Palace of Mystery together many times. I watched her and her then husband, Dick Zimmerman, constantly working on new material.
One of my favorite acts was a wonderful talking straight magic act that featured an excellent thumb tie with a beautiful, very sharp Samurai sword, and the Hydrostatic Glass. Diana had a direct, engaging and forceful personality on stage, and that act highlighted that. She much later did a wonderful pickpocket act that I loved for the same reason.
New board coming for Mental Epic
This new chalkboard for the Mental Epic is just starting production. They are crafted by Marc Charisse and have a usable blackboard surface on front and back. It will be large–more than 24″ by 16″. It will be sold by Pop’s Magic and include a new dvd of Pop Haydn teaching every detail of his routine Killer Epic.
We should know the release date in a month or so, so stay tuned…

Marshall Brodien has passed.
Marshall Brodien spent 26 years dazzling daily television audiences with magic tricks as the clown-wizard character Wizzo the Wizard on WGN-Ch. 9’s legendary “Bozo’s Circus” and its successor program, “The Bozo Show.”
Brodien wasn’t solely a children’s show cast member, however. Sans makeup, Brodien performed magic and stage hypnosis for years at lounges, clubs, county fairs, parties and trade shows. He also ran his own magic and novelty company.
