Pop Haydn in the 21st Century!

Pop Haydn in the 21st Century! is a wonder-filled evening of fun packed with music, comedy and magic.

Pop Haydn demonstrates his Teleportation Device and pitches his Amazing Miracle Oil and also his new Magnetized Water–a modern miracle for health and energy.

Pop will demonstrate the amazing abilities of the Sphere of Destiny, and answer audience questions about the future–about love, health, money and lost objects.

The show features the sexy, sassy excitement of our Louisiana Songbird Bonnie Gordon, the fire and magic of sultry sorceress Sophie Evans, and the good-time music of Professor Dave Bourne and the 21st Century Boys.

Pop Haydn will present Tesla Girl, who will bend the very force of gravity itself while immersed in the powerful radio-magnetic field generated by Pop Haydn‘s Tesla C-2000–a highly modified version of a Tesla Coil.

The show is a lot of fun and is geared toward an adult audience–but it is still family-friendly.

Steampunks, time-travelers, dandies and other 19th Century expatriates are welcome–no weapons, please.

The Magic Castle’s favorite character, Pop Haydn, will offer a new lecture on “Acting in Magic.” Pop Haydn is a six-time recipient of performing “Magician of the Year” awards at the Magic Castle, and is a past vice-president of the Magic Castle.

With his own persona firmly in place, Pop will address the basics of acting, character development and the theater of magic.

He’ll speak on what magicians need to know about the actor’s craft to improve magicians’ performances and strengthen their magic.

Pop will also be performing in the Close-Up Gallery of the Magic Castle, Feb 18-24.

Pop Haydn is coming to Santa Monica March 7th and April 4th!

Pop Haydn in the 21st Century!  is a wonder-filled evening of fun, with good-time music, song, dance, comedy and magic.

Pop Haydn demonstrates his incredible Teleportation Device and he also pitches his Amazing Miracle Oil and his new Magnetized Water–a modern miracle for health and energy!

Pop appears as the great seer–the Diviner of Destiny. He will take time to answer audience questions about the future–about health, love, money and lost objects–with the aid of his magnetically-energized crystal ball.

This show features the sassy song and dance of our Louisiana Songbird  Bonnie Gordon, the fire magic of sultry sorcerer Sophie Evans, and the good-time music of Professor Dave Bourne and the Medicine Show Band.

There are only 150 seats, so order your tickets in advance so you won’t be disappointed.

“Pop Haydn in the 21st Century” is coming March 7 and April 4th, 2013 to Magicopolis in Santa Monica , CA.

Learn the Shell Game, Three Card Monte and Fast and Loose!

“The School for Scoundrels” will be held in November with two classes–one on Sunday Nights beginning Nov 4th, and one on Monday Nights beginning November 5th. The classes are from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm for four consecutive Sunday or Monday nights. Fee is $160. Classes are held at the Magic Castle in the classroom by the Library.

The four classes are taught by Pop Haydn and Chef Anton, and are open to members and non-members. No prior experience or knowledge is required.

We cover the basic street swindles Fast and Loose, Three-Card Monte and the Shell Game, explaining the history, psychology, stratagems, moves, and application to magic of these ancient “games.”

We not only explain how to demonstrate these swindles in exhibition, but to actually play and win against all comers just as it would be done on the street. We believe that we have a lot to learn as magicians from the techniques and thinking of the street con artist. We need to call and hold a crowd, control their thinking and manipulate them into behaving the way we want them to, in just the same way as the street hustler setting up a monte game.

This course is educational and fun.

Pop Haydn is a past vice-president of the Academy of Magical Arts, and a six-time performing “Magician of the Year” award-winner. He is the author of several books and DVDs on street short cons, and along with his business partner, Chef Anton, has been teaching this course at the Magic Castle for the past sixteen years.

Chef Anton is the two-time “National Trick Shot Champion at Pool,” and has twice been nominated for “Bar Magician of the Year” at the Magic Castle. Chef is the author of the Pool Hustler’s Handbook and several DVDs on magic and billiards. He and Pop Haydn have created a number of new ruses and moves for these ancient games which they have explained for the first time in this course and the videos and books that have come out of the School for Scoundrels.
